Angelle Sander, Ph.D., presented an invited lecture at the First International Conference on Culture, Ethnicity and Brain Injury Rehabilitation, cosponsored by TIRR and held in Arlington, Virginia, in March. Her lecture was entitled "What is Community Integration Anyway?: Creating Meaning for Diverse Populations."

Angelle Sander, Ph.D., and Allison Clark, Ph.D. Brain Injury Association of Texas, held in Austin. The purpose of the workshop was to translate research findings from the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center for consumers with traumatic brain injury. Dr. Sander presented two talks: "Coping with Cognitive and Emotional/Behavioral Changes After TBI" and "Alcohol and Drug Abuse After TBI." Dr. Clark presented a talk entitled "Social Relationships and Social Communication after TBI." April 2009.

Dr. Sherer spoke on "Impaired Self-Awareness after Acquired Brain Injury." Dr. Sander discussed "Learning to Manage Stress as a Caregiver" and "Managing Cognitive Impairments in the Home: Simple Techniques for Caregivers."
