Dr. Matt Davis, M.D., an assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School, joined the medical staff of TIRR Memorial Hermann as an affiliated physician in 2011.
He was previously on the faculty at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he was an attending physician on the Spinal Cord Injury Service. Dr. Davis earned his medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, followed by a fellowship in spinal cord injury (SCI) medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Specialty and Interests
Dr. Davis is subspecialty-certified in spinal cord injury medicine and holds memberships in the American Spinal Injury Association, the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals and the American Academy of Physical Medicine &Rehabilitation.
Dr. Davis’s special interests include advocacy for patients with SCI, and he has been active in advocacy-related initiatives on a national level. Dr. Davis' clinical responsibilities include inpatient and outpatient management of persons who have sustained spinal cord injuries.”
