These tools include webinars, articles and patient stories aimed to provide families with information about specific conditions and treatment options provided at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Matthew Greives, MD, FACS, and Leanne Doringo, MSN, RN, part of The Texas Cleft-Craniofacial Clinic at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, in collaboration with Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, were participating authors in the article, Survey of Parent Experiences in Prenatal Visits for Infants with Cleft Lip and Palate, published in the Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal.
The article aimed to identify the factors that influence a parent’s choice of cleft team and surgeon. The study discovered that parents are more concerned with the cleft team / surgeon’s experience level and personality than the distance travelled to get to the hospital or the before and after photographs of previous patients.
