The $250+ million expansion project at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center adds nearly a half-million square feet of new and renovated service areas. The centerpiece of the expansion is the new 351,636-square-foot, eight-story South Tower, which includes:

  • New, comfortable registration and family waiting areas
  • Four additional operating rooms (bringing campus total to 25) with expanded pre-and post-surgical areas
  • Four new endoscopy suites
  • Seven new, larger interventional labs for heart, neuro, trauma and oncology care
  • Cardiopulmonary unit relocating from the first floor of the Hospital Pavilion
  • A 36-bed patient care cardiovascular intermediate care unit (IMU)
  • A new cardiovascular intensive care unit with 12 beds (2 more beds than previous East Tower location - total of 58 campus ICU beds)
  • Shelled space for future patient bed growth
  • A new Starbucks location with indoor and outdoor seating
  • The Howard Hughes Corporation Community Conference Center and Woodforest Bank Community Terrace

Memorial Hermann The Woodlands' new main entrance is at the new South Tower and faces south toward Medical Plaza Drive, near the southbound feeder road of I-45. The Pinecroft Drive entrance to the west remains open for patient pick-up and drop-off as well. In addition, 9250 Pinecroft Drive will remain the facility's address as it has been since the opening in 1985. Complimentary valet parking moved from the Pinecroft Entrance to the South Tower entrance on May 23, 2022.

A new, 7,416-square-foot skybridge connects the new tower to Parking Garage 2 (in front of MP2), which will contain two additional levels of parking in 2021. Total parking spots on campus are now 3,412.

The new South Tower will also allow for renovation and expansion of 137,952 square-feet in other areas of the hospital, including:

  • Food and Nutritional Services
  • Imaging
  • Surgery support
  • Pharmacy
  • Inpatient care areas

We are extremely excited at how this will further enhance patient experience, which begins the moment someone visits our campus. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we open the South Tower and continue renovation on campus.
