Memorial Hermann Health System has been ranked fourth among Forbes magazine’s annual list of America’s Best Employers, earning a top spot alongside several nationally recognized brands.
Memorial Hermann achieved the prestigious recognition following an in-depth survey by research firm Statista, which measured employee satisfaction by gathering opinions from more than 30,000 workers from a multitude of industries across the United States.
The ratings were largely based on responses to questions asking employees how likely they were to recommend their organization to friends and family. In addition, employees were also asked to recommend other companies outside of their own. Memorial Hermann was the only Houston-based employer to crack Forbes’ Top Five large employers, defined as companies with more than 5,000 employees.

This year’s list by Forbes named several healthcare organizations among the top large employers across the nation, but Memorial Hermann was the only health system to achieve a spot within the top five, featured alongside wholesale retailer Costco, technology giant Google and REI, an outdoor gear retailer.
The honor is the latest accolade for largest non-profit health system in Southeast Texas recognizing its excellence in delivering care. Late last year, one of the System’s facilities, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital, earned the coveted 2016 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest Presidential honor for performance excellence – becoming the first in the Houston area and only the third in Texas to win the prestigious award.
