HOUSTON (May 12, 2017)

Dress for Success MeetingEmpowering women across the Greater Houston area to achieve their full potential and make lasting impressions in the workplace, Women Leaders of Memorial Hermann Health System has partnered with Dress For Success Houston for its annual “Send One Suit” donation drive.

The annual drive, established in 2000, partners with companies throughout Houston to host a professional women’s clothing drive which accounts for 60 percent of Dress for Success Houston’s annual clothing inventory. For nearly two decades, the organization has empowered women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help them thrive.

“Dress for Success Houston has provided business attire to more than 35,000 women from all walks of life, giving them a much needed boost of confidence to help them succeed,” said Nancy Levicki, President and Co-Founder of Dress for Success Houston. “We are proud to say that this year’s donation by Memorial Hermann is the single largest donation from one of our business partners to date. Thanks to the support of organizations like Memorial Hermann, we hope to add more than 3,500 women to our growing number of success stories in 2017.”

Memorial Hermann employees throughout the system donated women’s suits and professional attire which included blouses, closed-toe shoes, gently-used handbags, business portfolios and new panty hose to benefit local Houston women. Additionally, employees were able to make monetary donations and donated nearly $6,000 in paid time off to support the drive.

“Supporting Dress for Success and giving back to women in our community provides invaluable confidence they need to prosper in both work and life,” said Erin Asprec, SVP and Regional President-South Region for Memorial Hermann and co-founder of Women Leaders of Memorial Hermann. “As the city’s largest healthcare provider, Memorial Hermann is committed to not only advancing the health of our community but also helping those in need outside of the healthcare setting. Women Leaders of Memorial Hermann is a dedicated group of leaders who are proud to support organizations like Dress for Success in order to make a difference in the lives of Houstonians in need.”

Women Leaders of Memorial Hermann, which currently includes more than 400 women across the Memorial Hermann system, was formed in 2015 to inspire, engage and develop exceptional leaders within the organization.
