HOUSTON (October 14, 2015)

Memorial Hermann will open a Heights-area Urgent Care at Washington and Fowler in early 2016 that will provide walk-in care for those with non-life-threatening health conditions.

The Memorial Hermann Urgent Care will be staffed with board-certified family medicine physicians from the Memorial Hermann Medical Group. No appointments will be necessary.

“We are very excited to bring this model of healthcare to the Greater Heights,” said Jennifer Zimmerman, Vice President of Operations, Memorial Hermann Medical Group. “We identified the need for different levels of care and access in the Greater Heights and this facility will help satisfy that need. We’re committed to providing the appropriate level of high quality, convenient care in all the communities where Memorial Hermann is present.”

The 2,500-square-foot Memorial Hermann Urgent Care will offer those in the Greater Heights and the surrounding communities the ease and convenience of extended medical care and will serve as an extension of a primary care physician’s office. Memorial Hermann opened its first Urgent Care in Friendswood in June.

“The Urgent Care facility will give the people in our community one more option for exceptional, prompt medical care and direct access to our diverse system capabilities and facilities if needed,” said Susan Jadlowski, Sr. Vice President, CEO, Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital. “We’re here to serve the Greater Heights area and surrounding communities by providing convenient access to all levels of high quality healthcare.”

There is an added convenience for those who receive care at Memorial Hermann Urgent Care and have a primary care physician who is a member of MHMG. To help ensure integrated comprehensive care, those patients will have their visit placed in their electronic health record for easy review during any follow-up appointments with their primary care physician.

Memorial Hermann Urgent Care will treat patients as young as six months and older and will offer convenient hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
