Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital recently got a special visit from some of the city’s bravest heroes: firefighters from the Houston Fire Department in their second annual “Hanging with the Heroes” event. The firefighters brought some joy to the pediatric patients by playing board games, putting together puzzles and letting the kids see some of their equipment close-up. Patients were given their own honorary firefighter helmets and badges, but that didn’t compare to the opportunity of actually trying on some of the real firefighter gear.
