Dr. Dara, who is board-certified in internal medicine, earned his doctor of medicine degree from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, where he also completed his residency. Dr. Dara also completed residencies in internal medicine at the Peterborough District Hospital in the United Kingdom and at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. He completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans.
Dr. Dara has been a member of the Memorial Hermann Northeast medical staff since 1998. Howard Hamat, MD, a gastroenterologist, was selected as chief of staff-elect. He will assume the chief of staff position on January 1, 2013.
