Program Description

In 2017, the International Symposium on Wearable Robotics will be held for the first time in the USA, and will expand its scope to include rehabilitation robotics. As in the previous meetings, researchers and innovators from all around the world will discuss novel approaches, challenges and potential solutions in technologies for wearable robots used in neurologic rehabilitation. The symposium will showcase the expertise of an international panel of speakers from academia, government, industry, and rehabilitation centers, as well as the experience and feedback of end users of robotic devices. The 2017 symposium will encompass topics ranging from pediatric application of robots, recent innovations in wearable robotic technology, computational neurorehabilitation, physical human-robot interaction and interfaces, and solutions for the needs of persons with disabilities and the aging population. There will be interactive workshops with engineers, clinicians, and end users to promote collaboration among different disciplines, and a product theater demonstrating the latest in wearable exoskeletons and rehabilitation robots.
