TIRR Memorial Hermann-The Woodlands offers multidisciplinary inpatient and outpatient medical rehabilitation. The hospital’s inpatient center is designed to help patients reach optimal functionality following an injury or illness. An individualized and comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation treatment program is designed by the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) multidisciplinary team to meet the specific needs of each patient. This team consists of the affiliated physicians, the patient, the family, nurses, physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, case managers and clinical dietitians.

Admission Criteria

Patients admitted to the inpatient unit will be 16 years of age or older. On occasion, a child younger than 16 years of age may be admitted, at the discretion of the attending physician. Children younger than 16 years of age should weigh at least 50 kg. Patients must be medically able to participate in a comprehensive rehabilitation program. Patients may have concomitant conditions either independent of or resulting from the illness or injury. Examples include, but are not limited to, visual or hearing impairments. Accommodations will be made to meet these needs as best as possible.

• Patients must be able (or have potential within a reasonable amount of time) to tolerate at least three hours of therapy per day.
• Patients with acute, infectious, and/or communicable disease are not routinely admitted.
• Patients must have the physical and/or mental potential to benefit from the program.
• Patients are admitted to the program in accordance with the admission procedures. The patient’s degree of impairment must be sufficient to require inpatient hospitalization.

Parking Information

Parking is complimentary at any surface or garage parking lot. There is also complimentary golf cart transport service Monday - Friday during day time hours to assist visitors between their car and the hospital if needed.
