TIRR Memorial Hermann Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Program will be using the APTA's RF-PTCAS for the admission process. Please note the materials required by RF-PTCAS that will be submitted through the APTA RF-PTCAS website.

Supplemental materials required by the TIRR Memorial Hermann Neurologic Residency Program include:

Cover letter/letter of intent to be submitted with your RF-PTCAS application, including responses to the following questions:

  • What are your goals for participating in a neurologic physical therapy residency program?
  • What strengths do you bring with you that will grant you success in the residency program?
  • What is your five-year career plan following the completion of a neurologic physical therapy residency program?

Reference Letters and Applicant Rating Forms

  • Three professional reference letters to be included with your RF-PTCAS application  
  • Three Applicant Rating Forms will be completed by each reference (all three references must be professional references) to be submitted to the contact information below. Download the Applicant Rating Form.
  • New graduates must submit at least one letter of recommendation (submit this through RF-PTCAS) and applicant rating form from a previous clinical instructor.

  • Under Search Career Opportunities, click on Search Career Opportunities. This will take you to a new page.
  • Under the category Clinical, click on Therapy and Physical.
  • Under the category Hospitals, click on TIRR.
  • Click on Search and this will take you to the next page.
  • Under Available Job Opportunities, click on Residency Physical Therapist (requisition number 100025019). This will take you to the next page.
  • Under Job Details, click on Apply. This will take you to a new page.
  • If you are a Memorial Hermann employee, go to Employee Logon and enter your username and password and click Submit. If you are not a Memorial Hermann employee, go to Non-employee Logon and create your username and password, then click Submit.

Application Fee

  • Application fee: $50.00
  • Make check payable to TIRR Memorial Hermann 

    Application deadline:

    • All required materials should be mailed together and must be received by December 5 for consideration.
    • Please note that the three Applicant Rating Forms and the application fee must be sent directly to the contact information below:

    Interviews will be scheduled in February of each year. Interviews with the top five applicants following application review by the Residency Advisory Council.

    Didactic training begins end of June. Clinical training begins the first week of July. Specific start dates will be communicated to the resident in the acceptance letter. 

     

    Minimum Eligibility Requirements

    Minimum eligibility requirements for acceptance to TIRR Memorial Hermann Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Program:

    • Be eligible for or hold a valid Texas Physical Therapy license
    • Eligibility requirements for new graduates:
      • You must have taken the Physical Therapy Licensure Exam on or before July 21 and 22, 2015.
      • You must show proof of certificate of completion from the Physical Therapy Program Chair if your graduation date is past the start date of the Residency Program.
      • You must show proof of a temporary Physical Therapy license in Texas by the start date of the clinical training (This will be communicated to you). If you are from out-of-state, the requirements for temporary license is the same for in-state graduates. Please visit the Texas Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners website to review the licensing requirements.
