Dr. John E. Bertini Jr., MD

John E. Bertini Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S., has been a consulting physician at TIRR Memorial Hermann for more than 20 years.
Dr. Bertini is a native Texan who is a board-certified urologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He holds teaching appointments in the department of Surgery, division of Urology at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and at St. Joseph Medical Center. He holds membership in several professional organizations including The American Society for Reproductive Medicine, The American Society of Andrology and the Society of Male Reproduction and Urology.
For decades, Dr. Bertini has evaluated and treated both men and women with disorders of the bladder, including those caused by stroke, trauma, multiple sclerosis and congenital neurologic diseases. He has provided care to countless men with disorders of sexuality such as erectile dysfunction and reproductive impairment cause by such maladies as spinal cord injury.
Lecturing and writing on a variety of topics, Dr. Bertini has educated the lay public, medical students, residents and colleagues to raise their awareness of the urologic needs and treatment options available to those with disabilities affecting their urinary and reproductive system. He serves in a variety of professional and civic leadership positions.
