Four Physicians Join the Medical Staff at TIRR Memorial Hermann

Nikola Dragojlovic, DO; Sara Goel, DO; Christine Krull, MD, and Shabrez Tariq, MD, FIPP, have joined the medical staff of TIRR Memorial Hermann.

Dr. Nikola Dragojlovic is an assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, and completed residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, where he was chief resident during the 2015-16 academic year. He went on to complete a fellowship in brain injury medicine at the same institution. Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Dragojlovic is an attending physician at TIRR Memorial Hermann and Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. His clinical interests include brain injury and stroke rehabilitation, resident education and educational curriculum development.

Dr. Sara Goel is a double-boarded physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist who focuses on pain management. She received her medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences of the Pacific College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pomona, California, with specialty training in osteopathic manipulation. She completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, followed by a fellowship in pain management at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, formerly the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Dr. Goel practices at Houston Spine and Joint Consultants and serves on the medical staff at TIRR Memorial Hermann. She is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as the American Board of Pain Medicine. She is skilled in up-to-date treatments and is committed to providing comprehensive patient care for headaches and joint and spine-related pain using a multidisciplinary approach that incorporates medication management, manipulation and physical therapy in combination with interventional management.

Dr. Christine Krull, an attending physician at TIRR Memorial Hermann, is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia. She completed her residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Emory University Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and at Shepherd Center and other Emory-affiliated sites in Atlanta, followed by fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine, TIRR Memorial Hermann and Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston. Dr. Krull’s clinical interests include care of spinal cord injury and neurorehabilitation patients, spasticity management, care of women with disabilities, wound care and electromyography. She is proficient in Spanish.

Dr. Shabrez Tariq has practiced pain medicine in the Houston area for the past seven years and is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Pain Medicine. He is also certified as a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP), the highest distinction for an interventional pain physician from the World Institute of Pain. He earned his medical degree at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Aligarh, India. He completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, followed by a fellowship in interventional pain at Pain and Spine Consultants in Nashville, Tennessee, where he trained in invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures to treat back and neck pain. He serves as medical director of Houston Spine and Joint Pain Consultants. In addition to English, Dr. Tariq is fluent in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.
