A National Leader Among Rehabilitation Hospitals
Recognized as one of the leading rehabilitation hospitals in the country, TIRR Memorial Hermann serves as a Model System for interdisciplinary rehabilitation services, patient care, education and a center of research. Every year since 1990, TIRR Memorial Hermann has appeared on the list of America's best rehabilitation hospitals published by U.S. News & World Report magazine - every year of the survey's existence.
Located in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, we have earned our reputation through more than 50 years of experience in rehabilitation and research, the high caliber of our staff physicians and clinicians, and the quality of our comprehensive programs and services.
The reputation of TIRR Memorial Hermann does not end with research and rehabilitation. Educating patients, families, healthcare professionals, caregivers and the general public about rehabilitation has been a long-standing commitment. Extending our knowledge and resources into the community remains a top priority and part of our pledge to make a difference in the lives of those impacted by disabling injury and illness.

Pathway to Excellence Program
The Pathway to Excellence Program® from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) recognizes health care organizations for positive practice environments where nurses excel. Pathway to Excellence hospitals improve nurse satisfaction, retain choice nursing staff and leaders, and demonstrate inter-professional teamwork.
In 2013, TIRR Memorial Hermann was recognized by the ANCC with the Pathway to Excellence designation - the precursor for Magnet® status. A Pathway to Excellence hospital is a champion of high quality nursing practice.
TIRR Memorial Hermann’s Pathway to Excellence is a journey of accomplishments in quality, patient safety, patient satisfaction, operational excellence, nurse recruitment and retention, and individual achievements. For example, between 2007 and 2016 the proportion of Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses (CRRNs) increased from 45% to 66%. In 2015, TIRR Memorial Hermann was re-designated. This attests to the RN’s staff commitment to excellence and personal goal achievement.
